Keeney Creek: Information

Recently I joined the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Yahoo group. Great group of folks, and our request for help was answered by Joe Vandenberg. He is modeling the C&O Piney Creek Branch in 1944. However, he also had valuable information on the stretch of the Keeney Creek branch from Lookout to Winona. Joe sent me a hand-drawn map of the line with roads and Keeney creek included as well! THANK YOU JOE!!!

I have been working on our second module plan based on Joe’s excellent field sketches. I realize now that Lookout is not exactly like it really existed. However, while Graham and I tested the electric feeds, we also switched some cars. After watching our efforts, I think that the current track plan will work for us.

So, if you want to model a specific prototype, you could search for a Yahoo group. There appears to be plenty railroad groups on Yahoo. there is even a N scale group dedicated to just C&O!! Join, introduce yourself and ask some questions. You never know when someone will have a sketch or photo of something you need.

The next question, what does the tipple in Lookout look like? (say that 5 times real fast!)
